"Morph the Cat" is a revelation in that, although the "usual formula" of jazz, swing, blues, and rock is nothing new, in Fagen's hands, the mixture is fresh and alive. To get the party jumping again, the album segues into the manic funk of "Brite Nitegown". Aside from "H Gang", I love picturing in my mind a smooth Lothario singing about his conquests in the sultry, knowing blues of "What I Do". Usually, I've found that when I purchase an entire cd because of just one song, I'm usually disappointed with the remaining offering. In this case, one swinging, soaring, swaying jazzy little ditty entitled "H Gang". As with past purchases, I bought this cd because of a newly released single that I loved.
